It’s this time of the year, when the smell of Pina Collada slowly gets substituted by the smell of pumpkin pie. That’s certainly not something to regret! Together with the smells and the weather, music also slows down and gets cosier and cosier.

Here is a fresh example that will eliminate any sorrow for the end of the summer days from your heart. “Waiting” is the latest release by multi-instrumentalist and producer Webmoms, which marks a departure from his lo-fi sound and sees the musical maverick move into yet another genre, neo-soul.

The track is written, produced, mixed and engineered by DIY artist Webmoms (real name Karum Cooper), with its soulful vocals written and performed by rising singer-songwriter Maddy. Besides her beautiful voice, you’ll hear a verse by Webmoms himself, which perfectly fits the mood of the song and injects it with more liveliness. Speaking on the new single, he states:

Lockdown three spurred me to get collaborating once again. The release of my Ruchikar EP in Sept 2020 helped me figure out what the Webmoms ‘sound’ was, although I’ve never pigeon-holed myself, I finally knew what sort of musical pocket I was sitting in. This, combined with having all this time on my hands, a few new instruments to play with, and a little more confidence in myself, I fell in love with producing and writing all over again.

Oh, I’m definitely “Waiting” and looking forward to having some pumpkin latte with this track floating around. How about you?
