Major League is officially back, marking their first new music release in over 12 years. The band has unveiled their latest single, “Heavenly Hell,” a track that masterfully blends thrashy, high-energy riffs with thunderous percussion. At its core, the song features a compelling dual vocal performance between longtime friends Nick Trask and Brian Anthony Joyce, serving as a symbolic bridge between their past and a revitalized future.
The reunion of Trask and Joyce was rooted in a commitment to radical transparency. After nearly a decade of silence, the two reconnected with the sole intention of rebuilding their friendship. While new music was not the initial goal, their renewed authenticity naturally paved the way for creative collaboration. The duo eventually brought their ideas to the Dropbox of their longtime friend and former booking agent turned producer, Gary Cioni.
With the addition of drummer Luke Smartnick, the trio has successfully captured the raw essence of the band’s original blueprint. Reflecting on the process, the band shared, “‘Heavenly Hell’ was born out of patience and transparency. The patience to allow yourself to grow and the transparency to share that growth in meeting people where they are. We always felt like we were meant to do this together. This song is proof.”
Fans eager to experience the band’s return in person can catch them on their current tour with Belmont. The run includes stops in Atlanta, New York City, Chicago, and more, culminating in a festival appearance at the Bolero Block Party in Carlstadt, NJ, on September 26.
