Another absolutely magnificent electronic collab.
French duo il:lo are on a roll, doing their magical makeovers of already amazing songs. After their remix of Rohne’s “Dawn Aura“, here comes their take on “Inner Voice” by our dear MÒZÂMBÎQÚE. Full of dreamy elements – hazy vocals and captivating synths, the song also has one of the most driving beatworks I’ve heard in an electronica piece. MOZ shares about the remix:
This collaboration is a dream come true. My early start as a solo producer was heavily influenced by dreamy, mellow house / electronic music like Bonobo, Tycho, and il:lo. No exaggeration, I found an email I sent to them in 2015 asking to remix or collaborate – and now here we are! It’s easy to get caught up in always wanting more, to be bigger, more successful, etc…, but it’s also important to acknowledge gratitude for your current achievements. So, I’m extremely excited, honored, and grateful to present this remix of “Inner Voice”.

When we heard the original track, we knew that some elements were super interesting to start the remix with. Especially the vocoder vocals and the pads that are super ethereal and dreamy. We also wanted to speed it up a little bit and bring a more dancy vibe to it and that’s why we add some garage drums and synths.
