If you are feeling a bit overwhelmed lately, lofi jazz might help with the brain fog.

“Gritty Herb” delivers all the jazz elements we love – brass and flutes with a live saxophone solo. Layered on top of a relaxed, but captivating boombap drum beat that leads the sound into a hip-hop direction, without straying too far from its jazz roots.

Fergstramental, or Alec Ferguson, is a beatmaker from Florida who mostly samples from rare vinyl records he’s collected. Robert-Jan Zandvoort, a composer, and arranger from the UK, also worked on this track. Hence, the super genre-bending “Gritty Herb.” It’s hard to pin a specific genre to this track, as it is a fabulous mixture between instrumental hip-hop and jazz-hop that takes the best from each genre to create a smooth and flavorful product.
