I haven’t been very diligent with exploring the Dublin music scene since I moved here, but some gems keep shining through my mild ignorance. One of those gems is Kojaque.

I’m not the one who normally features hip-hop, but “Bubby’s Cream” is just too damn good. The single is taken off Kojaque’s debut Deli Daydreams EP. The track is melancholic, thoughtful and is so so nostalgic all spiced up with some Irish accent. That saxophone though.

“The project meanders through the daydreams of KOJAQUE, the main protagonist, as he contemplates love, life and loneliness in the lead up to the annual work Christmas party. The project is a vignette of working life in Dublin, mundanity, madness and escapism.”
