Anushka’s stellar future soul/indietronica music got an amazing brit-funk makeover in STR4TA’s rendition of “Bad Weather”. Which I find the best soundtrack to start the week with.
The UK duo STR4TA added dancefloor grooves with live instruments on top of the already super warm vocals. Gilles Peterson elaborates:
When I listened to Anushka’s album one of my favourite tracks was “Bad Weather”. I always thought that Victoria’s voice reminded me of classic Brit-Funk so it made sense to do a STR4TA remix of this track connecting the dots from one generation to another.
We’re listening to the Radio Edit of the remix here but there are also a full and an instrumental version, all paired with the original piece in a limited DJ promo vinyl.
