T. Gowdy is a Montreal based producer and musician. His audio/visual performances have featured at MUTEK (Montréal and Barcelona) and Spektrum (Berlin), alongside his ongoing work as an in-demand producer/engineer with over fifty album credits to date, including Suuns, Ensemble and Ada Lea.

Back in May and two years after Vitrify Kate, he has released a new album called Therapy With Colour which is out via Constellation Records. It is inspired by experiments with the Nova Pro 100 Light and Sound Mind Machine (among the best-known home hypnosis “mind machine” devices, first released in the late 1990s).

Today we have the pleasure to share a new track called “Emerald Teeth” which is part of Constellation’s Corona Borealis series. The video accompanying the single was created by Los Angeles based multi-disciplinary artist Kai Luen Liang.

He explains: “An étude on the sculpturality of resilience. Timbres are squeezed together in a small suction filled compression chamber to produce a warped temporal mould, highlighting the role of pressure as a shaping element. Zooming out to see larger circumstantial compression chambers forming curves in the broader structures of social organization. Across the various permutations of scale, resilience is an engraving in time.”

The track is the fifth entry in Constellation’s Corona Borealis series. The series consists of 16 tracks, each accompanied by an experimental video, that we’ll be releasing throughout October/November 2020 and January/February 2021. 100% of revenue from the series goes towards the artists.
