MILYMA is the project of Swiss singer, musician and producer Milena Mayordomo, now based in Basel. According to the press release, Her music explores the experimental fringes of pop that nods to hip-hop as well as classical with her cascading arpeggios at the heart of her music making. Her world building capabilities with both music and visuals, place her amongst avant-pop creators like FKA Twigs and Smerz.
She has announced the release of a new EP called 321 which will be out on July 5th via new London-based imprint Foundation FM. We already shared “Twice“; “We Could Have” is a new excerpt.
MILYMA says on the production of the track, “When I first wrote We could have’ in 2019, the first iteration was only with a hard scratchy bass synth, the same synth that features in the middle section of the new song, as well as my voice – but I wanted a softer version but layered the piano to create the same energy”
She continues ““The song always gave me the feeling that it fits to a chasing or fleeing scene- running or flying fast!” Check the official video below.
