Will Graefe is a New York based singer-songwriter and musician, also known as session player and collaborator with artists like Cass McCombs, Anais Mitchell, Okkervil River, Eleanor Friedberger. He has announced the release of a new album called Marine Life which will be out on April 30th via 11A Records.
We already shared “Coral Court Motel“; “Almost Morning” is a new excerpt. He explains: “Almost Morning is the opening track on Marine LIie, but it was the last one written and recorded. It’s about processing loss and reckoning with one’s memory. It’s also a simple plea for strength, I think. The guitar solo is influenced by the sound of early Brian Eno and the unbridled spirit of Sonny Sharrock. I played and recorded all of the instruments on this recording.”
