The duo Yodok (Kristoffer Lo and Tomas Järmyr) was formed in Trondheim, Norway in 2009. They invited Italian bass player Massimo Pupillo (Zu) for an improvised studio session. The three musicians spent two days at Sørgården Studio, not far from Trondheim city, recording music created on the spot and in the moment.

The result of this collaboration is which is out now via Midira Records. According to the press release, “V” can be considered the 5thYodok album and consists of one long track, created and performed in one take, start to finish. The album takes its time to evolve. The sounds are growing slowly and invite you to listen carefully. The first 10 minutes are a slowly crawling drone, you can feel and hear how it unleashes the energy of all three musicians. After that the track unfolds a jazzy aspect and “V” begins to get more active. All ends in a massive climax, moving between drone, noise and doomy freejazz.
