Dutch Songstress Latanya Alberto is back with a new EP called Royal Escape. Speaking about the EP, Latanya explains “The Royal Escape describes the process of becoming closer to your core, by dismissing all the noise, all in order for you to become more in love with yourself and more pure in love with others. The EP delves into revaluating where you come from, whether this is your roots, or the place you consider sacred, and empowering the sense of identity through it. Being able to disconnect your nature from what nurtured you, builds foundation for honest love.”
According to the press release, Born and raised in Amsterdam to Surinamese and Curaçaoan parents, Latanya Alberto started writing poetry as a teenager, which became the basis for her lyrics today. Delving deeper into cultural awareness, female empowerment, social justice and romance, Latanya takes inspiration from the wordplay of legends India Arie and Erykah Badu.
