Jake Durant’s rendition of “You Don’t Know” feels like strokes of velvet rubbing against your eardrums as this is UNDENIABLY smooth from start to finish.
This actually reminds me of the earlier works of Ruck P, especially thanks to the distinct bounce of the drums paired with those gorgeous guitar strums. In this version, the vocals come across as a bit haunting whilst exuding an unexplainable level of soul that beautifully compliments the track. And when we reach the closing moments the stereo field is clouded by these warm synth textures that enliven the overall vibe.
