Wings’ fourth album, Venus And Mars, will be reissued to commemorate its 50th anniversary.

The band enjoyed great success in the 1970s with no fewer than 14 US Top 10 hits and 12 Top 10 hits in the UK. Following 1973’s Band On The RunVenus And Mars would represent another peak of Wings’ commercial heyday.

The album was originally released in May 1975 and hit No.1 on both sides of the Atlantic. It went on to sell over 4 million copies worldwide.

This special 50th anniversary vinyl edition was cut at half speed using a high-resolution transfer of the original master tapes by Miles Showell at Abbey Road Studios.

This reissue is presented as a meticulous reproduction of the original UK pressing. It has recreations of the original “Venus and Mars are alright tonight” and “comparative sizes of sun and planets” stickers. The LP also comes with two posters with photography by Aubrey Powell and Sylvia de Swaan.
