Rising country singer-songwriter Wesko has released his brand new acoustic Familiar Spirits EP, available now via Warner Records/underscore works recordings. The four-track collection serves as a poignant showcase of his plaintive songcraft, poised storytelling, and powerful vocal delivery.

The EP opens with “Hunting Ghosts,” a track that pairs vulnerable vocals with gentle finger-picking. Wesko confesses, “I’ve grown used to feeling lost and trying to drink my way through it. It’s been a downhill slide,” before the song’s airy echoes transition into a tender, haunting refrain. The project continues with the intimate and bold “Seneca Guns,” where Wesko’s voice rests atop delicate chords, questioning, “Can you hear it? Those Seneca Guns.”

Paying homage to the tradition of heartfelt Heartland songcraft, Wesko also delivers an emotionally charged cover of “I’m On Fire” by Bruce Springsteen. As an avowed fan of “The Boss,” he manages to do the track justice with his own incendiary and irresistible rendition.

Reflecting on the project, Wesko noted, “The Familiar Spirits EP is a collection of dark storytelling songs that paint a picture of the areas in someone’s life that you typically don’t hear much in a body of work, or in commercial music. Some of the stories will feel familiar to some, the cover is indeed a familiar song that’s loved by so many, and the EP as a whole has something for everyone. Loss of a lover, grief, trauma, and reckless desire; all Familiar Spirits that could lead you wrong if you let them.”

Wesko continues to solidify his reputation as a lyricist who cuts to the core, sharing relatable stories rooted in the reality of the working-class American experience. Following a successful 2025 that saw his track “Pretend” amass nearly 1 million streams, the artist is currently supporting Warren Zeiders on tour throughout the summer of 2026.
