The genre-bending Count Shaw returns with his first single of 2021, “The Way U Shaketh It” – a four-minute mystery tour through various sounds and styles.
Shaw, a solo multi-instrumentalist from Nottingham, strikes a more melancholy tone than ever, whilst introducing a heavier, psych-rock element. This is reflected not only sonically but in Shaw’s lyricism, captivating listeners with his capacity for engaging (and often surrealist) storytelling. Inevitably heading towards the gothic aesthetic of his moniker, Count Shaw finds his most convincing sound yet with this plainchant-laden climax.
