The iconic, GRAMMY® Award-winning rock band The Smashing Pumpkins have officially announced The Rats In A Cage Tour, marking one of their most ambitious live endeavors to date. Spanning from September through November 2026, the tour promises a unique two-part performance structure. The first set will commemorate the 30th anniversary of the band’s RIAA Diamond-certified masterpiece, Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness, while the second set will serve as a career-spanning retrospective, highlighting hits, deep cuts, and fan favorites from across their four-decade legacy.

A Theatrical Celebration of Mellon Collie
Reflecting on the tour’s concept, frontman Billy Corgan shared, “Staging a Mellon Collie-themed show is something we’ve discussed for over a decade, and finally the stars have aligned and exactly on the terms I’d set: which was to build a special night around its most enduring aspirations and ideas.” He added that the tour will showcase the band’s evolution, from their debut album Gish to their most recent release, Aghori Mhori Mei.
The band recently set the stage for this tour with a “Requiem For ZERO” at the Hollywood Legion Theater in Los Angeles, an intimate event that served as a symbolic funeral for the avatar Corgan introduced 30 years ago during the Mellon Collie era.
