One of the fastest-rising acts in the alternative rock scene, The Runarounds, have officially released their latest single, “Bleachers,” via AWAL. The track serves as a soaring anthem, masterfully tapping into the reckless freedom and the bittersweet, fleeting magic of adolescence.

Driven by shimmering guitars, anthemic melodies, and the band’s signature emotional urgency, “Bleachers” captures the visceral feeling of chasing a moment you know is destined to fade, yet desperately wanting to remain within it. From the thrill of sneaking out under the cover of night to the aimless, late-night drives, the song channels the kind of memories that linger long after the nights have ended.

Reflecting on the inspiration behind the track, guitarist and vocalist Axel Ellis shared: “‘Bleachers’ was written initially about sneaking out when you were younger. While we’re all a bit too old to have to ‘sneak out’ these days, we wrote it as if we were still doing things we used to do in high school. Things like turning your headlights off before picking up a friend so their parents don’t see, or silently shuffling down the driveway so as to not make a sound—things that used to make our hearts race back when curfews mattered. It led us down a road of wanting to take back that fleeting nostalgia—the nights in the backseat, or under the bleachers. It’s a reconnection with youth, recognizing although you might not be in that same place anymore, why not try to keep the good days alive?”

Produced by Daniel Gleason of Grouplove and TJ Elias, known for their work with Mastodon and Manchester Orchestra, the track was recorded at 100 Watt Studios in Charleston, SC. “Bleachers” builds upon the band’s recent momentum, following releases like “Arrhythmia (I Hope You Stay)” and “Chasing The Good Times,” further cementing their reputation as a breakout artist with a knack for blending high-energy indie rock with deeply relatable, narrative-driven storytelling.

The release arrives as The Runarounds continue their explosive trajectory on the road. Following a massive headline run that saw the band sell over 45,000 tickets across 32 shows—including venue upgrades and multiple sold-out dates in major cities—they have firmly established themselves as one of the most electric live acts in the industry today.

The band is currently back on the road for the next leg of their Minivan Tour, which kicked off on April 7th in Toronto. In addition to their headline dates, they are slated for debut performances at Bonnaroo and High Water Festival.
