What I loved about “Survivor’s Guilt” by Focus the Truth is the fact that it’s lively and raw conscious hip hop that doesn’t come across as preachy in any way.
The opening clip in the video sets the solemn mood that continues to linger in Focus’s delivery – a delivery that also grabs the attention of the listener as his voice seamlessly cuts through the mix. When it came to the instrumental, the use of the soul sample I thought made the message a lot more heartwarming thanks to the crooning in the chorus.
