Devon Rea’s second collaboration with jERRU is a downtempo caress reminiscing of cold weather and cozy times. Summer tunes tend to have a halo of possibilities and excitement that fall-inspired tracks often lack but compensate in grounding and comfort – that’s “S’mores & Hot Chocolate.” The echoing vocals and crackling keys – that’s a dusk walk in the forrest right there. Possibly a romantic one? And certainly carefree.
I know I’ll be thinking back to this exact track over the weekend when roasting marshmallows around the campfire and getting purposefully lost in the piles of fall foliage.
