Organic House is a genre I’ve been gradually becoming fond of, and one of the artists who are among the catalysts of this growing fascination is undoubtedly Gobi Desert Collective.
The latest single “Rawiya” featuring Coopsmusic_ is among their dreamiest works by virtue of the thick, atmospheric pads lurking in the backdrop to create a sense of weightlessness – and it really does. The track provokes imagery of desert skies especially with the brazen entrance of the ethnic plucks (I think it’s an oud) and the wide array of percussive textures guiding the rhythm.
