I’m quite a sucker for percussion, and the way Jesse Klein has arranged his percs on this rendition of “Quest” keeps the progression compelling by virtue of the constant surprises we’re welcome to.
Talking about surprises, the second half of the track takes on a completely different vibe… To the point where it sounds like a new track as fierce guitars slip into the mix and serene vocals hover in the background. The sublime melodic structure can’t escape mention too – Klein lays out a variety of melodies throughout “Quest” to make it feel like a riveting story is unfolding with each second that passes.
