What I loved about “Ironu” is the fact that it not only distinctively blurs the lines between genre, but cultures as well by virtue of Razaq’s African background juxtaposed with where he’s currently based (Canada).

When the guitar arrangements announced their presence into the mix the track literally burst with life! At this moment the cold, airy atmosphere was acquainted with an element soulful while the listener is welcomed to dance thanks to the upbeat rhythm and the dazzling percussion that’s laid out.

Ironu (“thoughts” in Yoruba) is inspired by Lagos electronic nostalgia. Television programs, telephone calls, video games, childhood comrades, and the music grown-ups listened to.
