Stoked to share with you the latest instalment from TromBobby‘s upcoming album PAUSE VOL.1.

“BOX OF CHOCOLATES” is a delicate blend of soul and jazz, taking inspiration from the movie Forrest Gump. Featuring Bulgarian band Единствените Приятели (Edinstvenite Priyateli), the track combines live-played instrumentation with soft vocals, which belong to the artist himself. Being a producer and multi-instrumentalist, he decided to utilize his singing abilities in two tracks of the album and today you get to hear the first one. TromBobby elaborates:

When I was a baby, I hit my head and for some time I had been deaf. According to doctors back then, there was a chance of this leading to a number of complications related to my development. My parents had a video rental shop, so they often played movies for me. From the many titles, I often ended up choosing Forrest Gump. My hearing eventually came back, but for a long period of time, I didn’t speak. The first time I spoke I was four and it was a quote from the movie. It took some courage, but I decided to share and tell you this song. A deaf child became a musician. Life is like a box of chocolates you never know what you gonna get.

The lyrics certainly make a point, offering some wisdom to make the song even better: “Mr. Gump gave me six lessons: One: You should dance before you start running; Two: Your Momma will do anything for you But some people will never get you; Three: You can master almost everything you want; Four: Stick to your promises; Five: You should take care of your Jenny; And Six: Life is like a box of chocolates you never know what you gonna get.

The track is a great reminder to overcome your fears and appreciate the good things in life, so press ‘play’ and let it sweeten your day!
