Baylee Littrell is stepping into a defining new chapter with the release of his new single, “So Be It,” out today. Bold, hypnotic and written for summer nights, “So Be It” marks a clear shift for Baylee, introducing a sound that feels more confident and true to who he is as an artist. The single sees him gravitating back to the pop and R&B sounds that shaped him growing up, and serves as the first glimpse into Baylee’s upcoming album, due out later this year.
Built around layered synths and undeniable rhythm, “So Be It” explores the push and pull between temptation and restraint. Lyrics referencing the Garden of Eden and the allure of forbidden desire underscore themes of surrendering to the moment, embracing uncertainty and trusting your instincts. Written entirely by Baylee, who also co-produced the track alongside GRAMMY® Award-winning producer Keith Harris, the single was mixed by GRAMMY® Award-winning engineer Tony Maserati and mastered by John Norten.
“So Be It” is already seeing early support at radio, with Baylee making stops at stations across the country to introduce the track and connect with listeners. Fans in Nashville can catch him performing “So Be It” live at 107.5 The River’s “River on the Rooftop” series on June 21.
“I am so excited and extremely proud to pave a new path in my musical career with ‘So Be It,'” says Baylee. “Writing this song and helping produce this track was one of the most freeing experiences I have ever had as an artist. This song not only resembles human temptation and a good time, it also represents the beginning of a new musical era for myself. I hope you all love this song as much as I do.”
That sense of freedom reflects an artist who has taken the time to discover exactly who he is and what he wants to say. Baylee first introduced audiences to a more personal side of his songwriting with “Hey Jesus,” an original song he performed during his run on American Idol Season 23. With “So Be It,” Baylee takes another step forward, leaning into a sound that’s bolder, more self-assured and unmistakably his own.
Watch for more new music from Baylee as he prepares to release his upcoming album, due out later this year.
