Squid are a British band that recently signed to Warp Records. Two years after Town Centre EP and 2020’s tracks “Broadcaster” and “Sludge”, they have announced the release of the debut album called Bright Green Field which will be out on May 7th via Warp Records. It was produced by Dan Carey.

We already shared “Narrator“; “Paddling” is a new excerpt. They explain: “Written from two different perspectives, ‘Paddling’ is a song about the dichotomy between simple pleasures and decadent consumerism. Recounting a familiar scene from Wind in the Willows, the song reminds us that although we are humans, we are ultimately animals that are driven by both modern and primal instincts, leading to vanity and machismo around us in the everyday.”
