Italian violinist and composer Laura Masotto has announced the release of her sophomore album which follows 2019’s Fireflies and 2020’s collaboration with Philip G Anderson. We will be out on June 11th via 7K!. Pre-order is available here. According to the press release, The album contains several layers, which reflect the dualism which is contained in existence: life and death, water and fire, love and pain, present and past, the conflicting sense of human nature and its mystery.
We already shared “Blue Marble” and “Ithaki“; “Refugees” is a new excerpt which features Roger Goula. According to the press release, it is inspired and dedicated to the continuing tragedy which is experienced daily by migrants in the Mediterranean. The video was made in collaboration with the Spanish NGO Open Arms which is involved in rescuing migrants who depart from the coasts of North Africa and travel Europe. The images used in the video were shot by the operators of Open Arms.
