British singer-songwriter and producer Rainy Miller has announced his new project called DESQUAMATION (Fire, Burn. Nobody) which will be out on November 2nd via HEAD II. According to the press release, Musically DESQUAMATION is a departure from Rainy’s earlier solo releases of blissed out, ambient and  heady beats with pensive lyricism. The release builds on immersive, maximalism and a distinctive new musical ground which Rainy has been breaking consistently, along with fellow North-West artists (and frequent collaborators) Blackhaine, Space Afrika, Iceboy Violet and Moseley. The tracks are fiery, intricate and dense stretching across worlds of contorted pop and laconic drill with gritty thought provoking bars, which put life in modern Britain under the microscope – delving eloquently into self-reflection, angst, trauma, growth and much more. This is a full blooded emotionally-led piece of work guided by a lyrical content that leads the listener to short, snatched scenes of its creator’s temperament and headspace at the time of creation.

For Rainy Miller music is a cathartic exercise as much as a creative endeavour, constantly evolving, adapting, and pushing the boundaries. DESQUAMATION is perhaps the most clear and ambitious undertaking and representation of this approach, arriving at an important point in Rainy’s stellar trajectory.
