D & The Compass is the solo project of the frontman of KL based electronic duo FNGDY and synth pop group Dian Bang. He’s back with a new remix of ”A Song For Wounded”, a track by Seoul born, Kuala Lumpur based music composer, multi-instrumentalist and filmmaker Dae Kim.
According to the press release, D & the Compass harvested a lot of samples from the original work, collaged them into a heady harmonic mix of electronic and psychedelic sounds. Beginning with a gorgeous dreamlike melody, that fluidity extends to some unsteady glitches and rhythms, and then eventually reaches its climax with distorted psychedelic dreamscape. “A Song for the Wounded (D & the Compass’ Healing Remix)” is an invitation to keep living the dream.
It is the third instalment in a series of re-imagining and re-work of selected tracks from mü-nest label’s “Music For Home” series.
