German guitarist and composer Kristof Hahn, best known for his lap-steel guitar playing in the New York experimental rock band SWANS, has announced the release of a new solo album called Six Pieces which will be out on November 5th via Room40. According to the press release, it is a record that is essentially born from the ashes of the final SWANS reformation line-up tour, uses various found elements, stored loops, thematic notes and other acoustic debris. The results are spiralling cascades of shimmering guitar cut against thick brooding washes of timbral intensity.
