Seattle-based singer-songwriter Briana Marela has announced the release of a new album called You Are A Wave which is out on September 9th as self-release. Title-track is the new excerpt. She explains: “The title track “You Are a Wave” is an imagining of Marela’s late father both as mundane and magical occurrences –– gestures, animals and objects –– until a bleak reality takes over and the words reveal his absence and death. “You are a bird that dives. You are a branch that breaks. You are a wave. You are a seam that rips … You are missing. You are gone. You are here with us. You are not here. You are with us.”
