Simon McCorry is a British musician, composer and sound designer which created sound for theatre, circus, dance & film and for over 15 years. A few months after The Illusion of Beginnings and Endings, he has released a new album called The Failure of Accuracy which is out now via Shimmering Moods Records.
He explains: “Each track is made in one take with no overdubs and very little further editing apart from tweaking eq. Recently I’ve been drawn to making music that is of the moment and is as it is as it is made. The process becomes like a communion with the materiality of the instrument and processes involved and in turn a communion with the materiality of the world. My ‘self’ becomes one process amongst many other interlocking processes. The perceived lack of perfection is where the soul enters and the intellect departs. I find this my route to peace & connectedness in a human world that I find ever turbulent and chaotic.”
