Racine is the project of Montreal based producer Julien Racine. Two years after Quelque Chose Tombe, he’s released a new album called Amitiés which is out now via Aisha Devi’s Danse Noire. According to the press release, There’s a lived-in quality to the sound of Racine’s Amitiés, as it was created during an extended time spent indoors, contemplating what it means to be isolated and in one’s own body, while also staying connected. It’s in this lack of social interaction—the heady psychosis of too much solitude—that Amitiés tone and mood lies, scoring the numb dissociation from internal chaos and alienation.
