k.burwash is a Edmonton based musician, sound artist and composer. He has released a new album called Holding Air which is out now via Shimmering Moods Records. He explains: “I can’t really say I wrote these pieces… I can’t say they were written at all. I’ve found a system that does not assist in writing, but functions quite the opposite, yet with similar outcomes. Each piece, using notes, melodies, emotions, memories, is generated and yet simultaneously eroded, rearranged, reorganized, providing a result which drifts and echoes recalling forgotten places, lost times through a cracked lens. A system that takes sounds, ideas, thoughts and transforms them, ‘de-composes’ them into pieces that come alive, that hold air. ”
