Jimmy Behan is an Irish musician and composer working with acoustic and electronic sounds, computer processing and field recordings. He has released a new album called Here We Are Now. According to the press release, it is an exploration of the present moment and the impermanent nature of existence. Sounds and melodies form and unfurl before dissolving and morphing into something else, with no particular purpose other than to be. Recorded during the covid pandemic, it helped remind me to treasure each day, rather than dread the next. The album is dedicated to my dear old cat Loley, who passed during its making.
