Jaleh Negari is a Danish-Iranian composer and percussionist. She has been a key figure of the experimental scene in Copenhagen for more than a decade, appearing a.o. as a member of the bands Selvhenter and Pinkunoizu and as founder of the collective and label Eget Værelse (eng: A Room Of Ones Own). In 2016, Negari released her debut solo album Arch Waves.
Now she’s back with a new album called Weaver. According to the press release, it presents an atmospheric processing of field-recordings from travels in Denmark, Iran and Indonesia, which have been altered into graphic notations and from here converted once again into new music. Careful translations of the material, which create evocative soundscapes reminiscing a new kind of science fiction.
