Two years after Les Mondes Imaginaires, Italian sound artist Francesco Giannico (Zeugma Collective) is back with a new album called Misplaced which is out now via Italian label Adesso. According to the press release, it is a concept-album based on a series of audio tracks created from an archive of audio samples recorded during various trips to Italy by Francesco Giannico.
The result is a “non-place”, but not in the anthropological meaning as defined by Marc Augé, but in an absolute meaning, since it is impossible to reconstitute the exact origin of the actual recording place.
