Multi-platinum, GRAMMY® Award-nominated pop singer/songwriter Carly Rae Jepsen has shared her latest single, “After All,” a glistening celebration of love. The track was penned as Jepsen contemplated how the experience of motherhood impacts one’s identity, personal choices, and perceptions of the world. Jepsen collaborated on the song with frequent partners Kyle Shearer, who also handled production, and Nate Cyphert. Listen to “After All” now below.
In the official video for the track, Jepsen performs the song while reveling in the gently filtered daylight of a room, surveying the remnants of a joyous dinner party from the night before. As the piano arrangement intensifies, images from celebrations across the decades flicker across the screen with the vibrancy of a fireworks display. The video was directed by Aerin Moreno, known for his work with artists like Tate McRae and KATSEYE.
A New Chapter: Day and Night
“After All” serves as a key piece of the “day” period of Jepsen’s forthcoming album, Day and Night. The ambitious 24-track double album captures a blurred, dreamlike sense of time, where nights stretch into mornings and days dissolve into nights, creating a feeling of being suspended inside a singular moment. Set for release on September 18 via Interscope Records, the project is currently available for pre-order. Jepsen is set to launch the album with a headline performance at NYC’s All Things Go Festival on September 27, marking her first live appearance of 2026.
The album’s lead single, “On Wires,” has already garnered widespread acclaim. Critics have praised the track for its organic warmth and subtle bravado, noting that it serves as a fitting preview for the “Day” half of the collection. Over the past 15 years, Jepsen has solidified her status as a pop titan, consistently carving out a unique path with confidence and intention. From the global phenomenon of “Call Me Maybe” to the modern pop landmark E•MO•TION, Jepsen continues to evolve as a songwriter, bringing a sense of freedom and self-assurance to her latest work.
