Multi-platinum artist and lyricist Niko Moon has officially announced his highly anticipated forthcoming album, ROOTS, slated for release on July 17th via EMPIRE. Alongside this announcement, Moon has unveiled his latest single, “RICH MAN,” a track that serves as a poignant introduction to a new, introspective chapter in his career.
ROOTS represents a significant evolution for Moon, moving away from the party-centric themes of his previous work to embrace a more grounded, personal narrative. The album is a direct reflection of his upbringing, his journey as a husband and father, and the places that shaped his identity—specifically Tyler, Texas, and his home state of Georgia.
“I’ve spent a long time building my life as a singer, songwriter, husband and father, and while that journey has taken me to some beautiful places—including my home now in Nashville—I started feeling pulled back toward the places that raised me,” Moon shared. “This album is an homage to those places, those memories and the stories that shaped me. ROOTS draws not only from my own life, but from the musical history of Texas, Atlanta and the South as a whole.”
The new single, “RICH MAN,” encapsulates the emotional core of the upcoming project. For Moon, the song is a realization that true wealth is found in connection rather than material gain. “For me, real wealth is coming home to my wife, raising our kids and building a life together,” he explained. “I’ve gone from sleeping in a little twin bed in a trailer to having a beautiful home and career, but none of it would mean anything without the people I love beside me.”
Serving as a follow-up to his 2025 project AMERICAN PALM, ROOTS trades beachside aesthetics for a deeper, more reflective soundscape. The album explores the diverse musical influences of Moon’s youth, blending introspection with the uplifting energy that has defined his career thus far.
In addition to the album news, Moon has announced his “BACK TO MY ROOTS” fall headline tour. The tour kicks off on September 11th in Youngstown, OH, with stops across the country, including performances in Chattanooga, TN, and Columbus, OH. With a new perspective and a collection of songs that honor his origin story, Niko Moon is poised to connect with listeners on a deeper level than ever before.
