Breakout indie pop artist Kevian Kraemer is capping off a breakthrough 2025 with his coy and ultra-catchy new single “wannabe!” out now via Atlantic Records. Produced by Mickey Brandolino [Conan Gray, Lauv] as their first collaboration together, it bookends a prolific year highlighted by a sold-out headline tour schedule, his most fully-realized EP yet, and a rapidly-growing fanbase. The song is also accompanied by an official lyric video, which can be seen now below.,

“wannabe!” is characterized by a slinky bassline, eighties-style keys, and a loose guitar groove. Right out of the gate, Kraemer’s flirty delivery transfixes as he leans into the beat with confidence and charisma. He delineates the feelings of excitement and uncertainty that come with a new fling, setting the scene on the hook: “We’re in the backseat. I’ll let you take the lead. Cause I wanna be what you wanna, wanna.”

“‘wannabe!’ is the first of many records working with Mickey Brandolino, which has been such an exciting process exploring my sound with him,” says Kraemer. “This single, being the last to cap off 2025, is about general infatuation. It’s a playful, energetic, alternative pop record about not being sure where you stand with someone, but wanting to ride it out despite the chance of being hurt in the end.”

Kraemer has made the most of 2025, cementing himself as one of indie-pop’s most exciting new voices in the process. PEOPLE touted him as one of its “Talented Emerging Artists for Your Fall Playlist,” declaring, “‘Attention!’ Kevian Kraemer is the artist you won’t want to miss.” Earlier this year, he embarked on his first-ever headline run, The Jersey or Mars Tour, where he performed to sold-out crowds across the country. Adding to the year’s momentum, he packed the house for a secret show at Jean’s in New York City and delivered a standout performance on Audiotree Live.

He brought the heat this summer with the release of “Tan Lines,” an immediate fan-favorite that quickly surged on social media. Ones To Watch raved, “The single, a vibrant ode to summer romance, weaves together candid storytelling and captivating pop melodies, solidifying his position as one of the scene’s most promising new talents.” The Honey Pop professed, “‘Tan Lines’ is a perfect introduction to the world of Kevian Kraemer music. But it barely scratches the surface. If ‘Tan Lines’ highlights the serenity of summer, the rest of his discography feels like one endless summer.” Sweety High assured, “He’s keeping the momentum going with the release of his breezy new single, ‘Tan Lines,’ beautifully capturing the feelings of young summer love and instant infatuation.”

In May, Kraemer dropped his latest EP, Jersey or Mars. A richly cinematic project about transition, growing up, and chasing the unknown, the project includes stirring songs such as “Rearview,” “Forever,” “Don’t You Dare,” and the exhilarating title track, the latter of which is joined by an official music video, directed by Jack Alexander Cohen.

Currently boasting over 26M worldwide streams and counting, Kraemer – who kicked off the countdown to Jersey or Mars with a special early listening event at Los Angeles, CA’s historic Al’s General Store – further marked the EP’s release with a well-received appearance on the nationally syndicated Kidd Kraddick Morning Show. Next up, he hits the road with Smallpools for his final tour of the year, with the first show date kicking off on November 3. For additional ticketing information, visit HERE.

It’s only just the beginning for Kevian Kraemer—stay tuned for more music in 2026.
