Tristan Welch is an experimental musician and sound artist from northern Virginia. According to his bio, he creates sonic soundscapes with his guitar which incorporates loops that are drenched in reverb, delay, and distortion. He’s back with a new track called “Ascending I (Open)”.
The artist on the creation-process of the song: “Steve Loya and I collaborated on a release titled Chromesthesia Chronicles (August 2020) and we were approached by Symposeum Magazine (from The Dial) to be involved in their 2nd issue. The theme of the magazine was “recovery”. Steve created paintings and titled the series “Ascending”. I took cue from his paintings along with my own experience in recovery to write three songs for the issue. In the magazine you can read an interview between Steve and I regarding this collaboration and more.”
