JFDR is the solo project of Icelandic musician and singer Jófríður Ákadóttir of Pascal Pinon. and Samaris. She has spent the last six months scoring two soundtracks: the scores for film Backyard Village as well as Icelandic TV series, Sisterhood. These soundtracks are released digitally only via her imprint at Krunk, White Sun Recording.
Jófríður says on the releases: “I made the two soundtracks when I was camped out in Australia with my partner and his family during covid. I set up a little makeshift space in an empty corner and worked away. It was an anchor in somewhat ungrounded times and I was grateful to have the work and be able to get swept away into the flow. I have selected some of my favourite pieces and I’m so happy that they are out there as their own works and can be the soundtrack to anyone’s certain or uncertain lives.”
