Mdou Moctar is a Tuareg guitarist and songwriter. He has announced the release of a new album called Afrique Victime which will be out on May 21st via Matador Records. “Tala Tannam” is the first excerpt which comes with the official video. The video was filmed in the bands’ native Niger at the end of 2020, and is a moving document of the band and its community, featuring friends and family in villages around Niamey as well as Hausa people from villages in the Dosso region, mirroring the song’s mellow and hypnotic momentum.
