Dance music phenomenon John Summit releases his latest single “WITH ME” via Experts Only / Darkroom Records. Featuring alt-pop provocateur Julia Wolf, the song continues to expand Summit’s sonic world as he traverses into emo territory, continuing to signal a striking new chapter in his musical growth and evolution.
As the third single from his forthcoming album CTRL ESCAPE (out April 15), “WITH ME” plays like a spell cast on the dance floor trading peak-time euphoria for something darker, more intimate, and emotionally charged—haunted by lingering memories, unresolved desire, and the ache of absence. Summit’s production is both seductive and unsettling, built on layered synths, pulsing low end, and ghostly chopped vocals that blur the line between release and restraint. Wolf’s raw, emo-tinged delivery pulls the listener under—“you stay up all night, you don’t say what you mean / I drink down my mistakes, I almost feel you with me”—before the track drops into an irresistible bassline.
John says of the track: “I’ve been a big fan of Julia’s voice and indie alternative sound for a while so I asked her if she’s ever been on a dance record and she said no… so I invited her to my Miami studio and we merged our sounds to make something I think is truly unique.. I really don’t know what genre to call this but whatever it is there’s no rules and that’s what I love about dance music.”
CTRL ESCAPE pushes boundaries by fusing a wide array of genres, from heavy-hitting tech-house flair to dubstep, drum & bass, and other broader influences. Taken as a whole, the body of work acts as a portrait of John Summit’s life right now—the relentless touring, the stadium gigs that butt right up against the intimate shows he keeps doing in order to maintain a connection to his day one fans, but it’s also designed to be played out in rooms of all sizes. Each track is its own world, its own journey through the past and present of electronic music.
John Summit will make his Ibiza residency debut this summer, headlining nine Mondays at [UNVRS], alongside his UK summer headline debut at Labyrinth Events’ Tofte Manor. He then hosts back-to-back Experts Only ski weekenders in Vail and Whistler, before closing Ultra Music Festival’s mainstage. Summit will also appear at Ultra South Africa, EDC México, and Tomorrowland, before returning to New York City in September for the highly anticipated return of the Experts Only Festival following its sold-out 2025 debut.
