Rising indie-alternative artist isitjosh returns with a heartfelt new music video for “joshville Pt. 2” from his debut album A Collection of Short Stories About the Heart that dropped earlier this year. “joshville Pt. 2” is a companion track to his previously released fan-favorite song “joshville.” It expands on the emotional journey that started with his first song exploring themes of love, vulnerability, and self-acceptance. While the first song explored the fear of connection and the instinct to protect your own heart, Pt. 2 dives into the freedom of letting go and allowing yourself to love and be loved, even when you are scared.

isitjosh shared his thoughts on this track, “Love is scary. It leaves you so vulnerable. ‘joshville’ explored that fear of connection, while ‘joshville Pt. 2’ dives into the freedom that comes from finally giving in. They represent two sides of the same story. ‘joshville Pt. 1’ was this tiny safe town I built in my heart, population one. ‘joshville Pt. 2’ is when I finally let someone else in. So my little imaginary town finally had a population of two. This song bridges the first half of the album with the rest of it and tells the story of how it eventually goes back down to one.”

Leaning into a more stripped down, folk sound inspired by his Nebraska roots, “joshville Pt. 2” balances warmth and melancholy with striking vulnerability. The accompanying video was filmed in rural Lancaster, PA featuring a real couple and close friends of Josh who set out on a cross-country RV journey together.

“They had just given up most of their possessions to travel the country documenting concerts,” Josh adds. “Their love felt so genuine when I was around them. When they asked what the plan was for the video, I told them, ‘I’m just going to film you two being in love,’ and it turned out perfectly.”

The new music video is part of an ongoing journey where Josh is creating 18 DIY music videos for all 18 songs off his debut album. With each release, he continues to build a world rooted in honest storytelling and emotional connection. The songs delve into a variety of genres influenced by artists in the pop punk, emo, EDM, hip-hop, and singer-songwriter spaces. Previously released music videos include “WATCHING ANIME,” “life of the party” featuring longtime collaborator JR Graves and “I used to dream.”

Isitjosh is a voice on the scene unafraid to dig deep, ask questions, and reflect on navigating adulthood, loss, and reinvention. The record featured major players in the alternative music space such as Kellin Quinn and it was produced in collaboration with cmfrt (co-writer, touring guitarist) and sayvenus (co-writer, touring backup vocalist).

As a fully independent, self-made musician, isitjosh has built his community from the ground up. At its core, his mission to create music about real experiences and honest storytelling. Without a label or major backing, he continues to connect with listeners through an authentic songwriting approach and a dedicated fanbase who supports him every step of the way.
