A Legacy of Genre-Blending

Since their debut in 2004, Head Automatica has stood as a unique force in the alternative music landscape. Born from the creative partnership between Glassjaw frontman Daryl Palumbo and acclaimed producer Dan the Automator, the project allowed Palumbo to pivot from his punk roots into a sophisticated exploration of new wave, garage rock, and synth-heavy electronics. Over the years, the band has shared stages with icons like The Cure, Gary Numan, and Interpol, while collaborating with industry heavyweights such as El-P and Del the Funky Homosapien. Despite an indefinite hiatus beginning in 2012, the band’s catalog has continued to resonate, amassing over 42 million streams.

The Evolution of Version 3

Following a successful return to live performances last year, Head Automatica is currently preparing for the release of their highly anticipated third studio album. This new chapter promises to retain the band’s signature electronic foundation while introducing a matured, deeper sonic palette. The current lineup features original guitarist and co-writer of the hit “Beating Heart Baby,” Craig Bonich, alongside Glassjaw drummer Chad Hasty and longtime collaborator Richard Flesh. This iteration of the band has already teased their evolution with recent singles “Annulment” and “Bear The Cross,” signaling a powerful return to form.
