Emerging indie-pop artist, actor, and signed model Grace Annabella Anderson has returned with a sparkling new single, “Take It Back” out now. A bold pivot from the flirtatious sparkle of her last single, “Take It Back” dives into the depths of vulnerability, heartbreak, and emotional reckoning. It’s a raw outpouring from an artist who refuses to look away from the full weight of feeling.

Written entirely by Grace in a single breathless sitting, this must be her most personal and emotionally charged work to date. What started as a stream-of-consciousness journal entry became a sweeping indie ballad about losing someone who felt cosmically destined, only to be left wondering what could have been. Produced by Thomas Dulin at Nashville’s The Planetarium, the track contains lyrics that feel both fiercely specific and universally resonant, carried by Grace’s haunting and exposed vocals, reminiscent of Lizzy McAlpine and early Phoebe Bridgers.

Grace, a recent graduate of NYU Tisch Drama and Creative Writing, is no stranger to storytelling. Having honed her craft across mediums, from performing Shakespeare onstage to publishing award-winning poetry, her music is rooted in authenticity, literary nuance, and deep emotional resonance. “Take It Back” is aching, wounded, and consumed – a song for those who have come painfully close to getting everything they’ve ever wanted, only to watch it slip away.

“‘Take It Back’ might be the most honest I have ever been in my writing,” says Grace. “It came out as a way of channeling a lot of confusion, grappling, love, futility, wanting, and resentment that didn’t have anywhere else to go.”

Grace’s creative upbringing – raised by acclaimed graphic designers in Minneapolis, nurtured by classical music training, and shaped by NYC’s creative heartbeat – imbues every lyric with intention. Her storytelling finds inspiration in the diaristic honesty of Taylor Swift, the aching mood of Phoebe Bridgers, and the poetic edge of Sylvia Plath. With previous EPs NYNETEEN and Bandages receiving love from tastemakers like Plastic Magazine and Music Is To Blame, “Take It Back” marks a shimmering next step in her evolution.
