Classic Pop’s Top 40 RSD Record Store Day 2025

Record Store Day 2025 takes place on 12 April and will feature more than 270 independent shops in the UK.

Featuring titles by a-ha, Duran Duran, Eurythmics, OMD, Prince, Soft Cell, Thompson Twins and many more, this year’s event offers plenty of releases that will be of interest to Classic Pop readers.

Record Store Day 2025 - Adam and the Ants

Adam & The Ants: Prince Charming

Features three of Adam & The Ants biggest hits – Stand And Deliver, Ant Rap and the title track, this classic album has been long out of print and is reissued as a special gatefold gold vinyl edition.

Record Store Day 2025 a-ha

a-ha: Hunting High And Low – The 1984 demos

This Record Store Day exclusive of Hunting High And Low is presented in the form of a-ha’s original demos. This edition’s album sleeve and associated packaging will feature unseen images and a design evocative of the its 1985 release. Features the demo of Take On Me, The Sun Always Shines On TV and the album’s title track.

Alison Moyet’s critically acclaimed fifth studio album, Hometime, is now available for the first time on limited edition gold vinyl. A testament to Moyet’s artistry, this individually numbered pressing is strictly limited to 3,000 copies worldwide.

Record Store Day 2025 - Art of Noise

Art Of Noise: Impressions Of For+Ever & The Making Of Moments In Love

Impressions of Forever is a brand new, 33rpm vinyl-only, compilation album celebrating the 40th anniversary of Art Of Noise’s Moments In Love – one of the most influential tracks in the history of electronic music. The LP contains a total of 13 tracks, seven of which are previously unreleased on vinyl and six previously unreleased studio moments and interludes.

Blancmange: Everything Is Connected Too

Everything Is Connected Too is the second instalment of Blancmange’s finest moments on vinyl. The companion to Everything Is Connected, this LP digs further into recent releases like 2024’s Again I Wait For The World and Bliss (both on vinyl for the very first time) to Sad Day (original) one of their very first outings from 1981.

Blur: The Magic Whip

Record Store Day 2025 marks the 10th anniversary of Blur’s The Magic Whip with a special, half-speed mastered limited edition zoetrope picture disc. This unique release features vibrant, original artwork, presented in an intricately designed die-cut sleeve. The Magic Whip is Blur’s eighth studio album and includes the tracks Ghost Ship, Go Out, Lonesome Street and Ong Ong.

The Boomtown Rats: Dawn Of The Rats Demos B-Sides And Live 1975-1979

For the first time on vinyl comes The Boomtown Rats’ live demo tapes from 1975-1979. It was the recording that found its way to the desks of Nigel Grainge and Chris Hill at Ensign Records. The tracks are complimented with live performances and a selection of B-sides, many of which have never appeared on CD or LP. Available on lurid sewer-like transparent green vinyl.

Bryan Adams feat Tina Turner: It’s Only Love

Two new recordings of the iconic duet It’s Only Love by Bryan Adams and Tina Turner. This limited edition 7″ release includes a rock mix and a stripped-back version dubbed the “Midnight Mix,” showcasing Turner’s powerful vocals. This collection highlights her enduring legacy and the void her absence leaves in music. Released under Adams’ independent label, Bad Records, these mixes celebrate their legendary collaboration.

CHVRCHES: Every Open Eye (10 Year Anniversary Version)

Following the success of the 10 Year Anniversary Edition of debut album The Bones Of What You Believe, CHVRCHES will now celebrate a decade of their sophomore release with an exclusive double vinyl repack for Record Store Day 2025.

The Colourfield: Virgins & Philistines 40th Anniversary Edition

Record Store Day 2025 Exclusive. This is a newly remastered 2LP yellow coloured vinyl version The Colourfield’s debut album Virgins & Philistines. Following on from his previous groups, Terry Hall formed The Colourfield, releasing two albums. This newly expanded edition of their debut includes a bonus disc with non-album singles and B-sides.

Record Store Day 2025 - The Cure

The Cure: The Head On The Door

For the 40th Anniversary of The Cure’s sixth studio album, The Head On The Door. For the first time on Picture Disc, it features the singles Inbetween Days and Close To Me plus fan favourites Push and Six Different Ways. Remastered by Robert Smith and cut by Miles Showell at Abbey Road Studios, London, the Picture Disc is house in beautiful die-cut sleeve designed by Andy Vella.

Dannii Minogue: Neon Nights Remixed

Following on from 2023’s 20th Anniversary re-issues of Neon Nights, Dannii Minogue returns to the dancefloor for Neon Nights Remixed. The LP includes reworks from Initial Talk, AMYL, Luke Mornay, Project K and a specially commissioned new remix of Put The Needle On It by Korpi & Blackcell. All mixes featured appear on vinyl for the very first time.

David Sylvian: Camphor II

Coming to vinyl for first time, this mainly instrumental collection celebrates David Sylvian’s collaborations with Holger Czukay, Bill Nelson and Rain Tree Crow. The 11-track compilation has been re-sequenced by Sylvian and contains an exclusive edit of The Beekeeper’s Apprentice from 1999’s Approaching Silence.

Record Store Day 2025 - Dead or Alive

Dead Or Alive: You Spin Me Round (Like A Record) (Version 1 + 2)

To celebrate the 40th anniversary of You Spin Me Round (Like A Record), two different limited and numbered 12″s are being released for RSD 2025. Version 1 contains the Murder Mix, Metro 12″ Extended Mix and 400 Hz – Kleopatra Remix. The 12″ is carefully packed in a PVC sleeve. Version 2 contains the Performance Mix, Mark Moore & Mr Motion Remix and the original 7″ Mix. The B-side contains a full colour picture.

Dead Or Alive: Youthquake Remixes (RSD 2025)

Pressed on 140g Translucent Blue Vinyl to celebrate Youthquake’s 40th Anniversary, this newly compiled LP of Dead Or Alive remixes is an exclusive Record Store Day 2025 release.

Record Store Day 2025 - Duran Duran

Duran Duran: Danse Macabre: De Luxe Bonus LP

Duran Duran’s Danse Macabre: De Luxe Bonus LP contains seven songs previously only available on vinyl via Danse Macabre: De Luxe boxset. Now, those seven tracks are available on a standalone LP for the first time. Three of these tracks have been released digitally, on CD, and in the boxset. They are Masque of the Pink Death, a cover of ELO’s Evil Woman, and New Moon (Dark Phase). The other four tracks are: Spooky, Instructions For A Séance, The Visitor and Dialogues Of The Dead .

Eurythmics: Be Yourself Tonight

Eurythmics classic album, Be Yourself Tonight, will be released as a picture disc for the first time to mark its 40th anniversary. The acclaimed LP includes Sisters Are Doing It For Themselves, There Must Be An Angel (Playing With My Heart), Would I Lie To You and It’s Alright (Baby’s Coming Back).

Gorillaz: Demon Days Live From The Apollo Theater

RSD 2025 celebrates the 20th anniversary of  Demon Days, with the release of Live From The Apollo Theater. This limited edition double red vinyl is presented in a striking gatefold sleeve.

Holly Johnson: Hollelujah

Released on limited edition Yellow Golden Shower Vinyl to celebrate the 35th anniversary of Hollelujah. The record includes remixes of tracks taken from the Blast LP and features Americanos (The Perfect Taco Mix) and Love Train (Americanos Big Beat 109 BPM Version).

Jamiroquai: Funk Odyssey

A Funk Odyssey was the fifth studio album by Jamiroquai, originally released on 3 September 2001 to critical acclaim.  This special Record Store Day 2025 2LP release is pressed on Corner Of The Earth Blue Green splatter vinyl and is a War Child Charity release.

The Jesus & Mary Chain: > 45s > 84 > 85 <

A newly remastered 13 track compilation of The Jesus And Mary Chain’s single A-sides and non-album B-sides. Includes their 1984 debut single for Creation Records, Upside Down, backed with their cover of Syd Barrett’s Vegetable Man, as well as singles from their 1985 debut album, Psychocandy. This edition comes in limited edition splatter vinyl.

Johnny Marr: Look Out Live!

Look Out Live! perfectly encapsulates the magic of Johnny Marr’s sold-out show at the Hammersmith Apollo in 2024. The memorable night featured a guest appearance from Pet Shop Boys’ Neil Tennant who reunited with Johnny to perform Electronic’s hit Getting Away With It and a rendition of David Bowie’s Rebel Rebel.

Kim Wilde: Closer – The Exclusive RSD Mixes

An exclusive 12″ LP featuring previously unreleased and never heard before mixes of some of the tracks from Kim Wilde’s new studio album, Closer. This selection of completely exclusive mixes come on a stunning transparent 12″ LP with red splatter.

Record Store Day 2025 - Madness

Madness: Take Cover!

This is the first time that covers recorded by Madness have been collated onto one compilation. Curated by the band, it includes their version of songs by John Lennon, ABBA, Ian Dury and many more. Pressed on translucent red vinyl, the LP is strictly limited to 2,000 copies worldwide.

Kinky Roland & Boy George: You’re Not The One

Boy George is back in full force for Record Store Day 2025 via this exclusive and limited coloured vinyl 12″. You’re Not The One was originally recorded in the 90s and has been tastefully reimagined for a new generation courtesy of the original producer, Kinky Roland. It also includes a Vocal & Dub version from producer Eric Kupper and a genre straddling remix from  Paris Cesvette.

The Mission: Neverland (30th Anniversary Edition)

Neverland, the fifth studio album by The Mission, was originally released in 1995. It celebrates its 30th anniversary with a special edition for RSD 2025. Pressed on double 140g red & yellow vinyl, the 2xLP is housed in single wallets, and includes a complete set of lyrics.

Monaco: I’ve Got A Feeling

I’ve Got A Feeling is the single that was taken from Monaco’s self-titled second studio album. Now, for the first time, it will be available on 12″ vinyl with three other tracks taken from the original CD-single. Monaco was a side project  of New Order bass player Peter Hook, together with David Potts of Revenge. This extremely limited edition four-track EP will be releases as a one-sided 12″ with an UV photo print on the B-side.

Neil Finn: Sessions at West 54th Street

This set features the first audio-only release of Neil Finn’s classic 1999 appearance on Sessions At West 54th. Recorded live in New York City, it includes songs from the singer-songwriter’s first solo album, Try Whistling This, and hits recorded with Split Enz and Crowded House.

Neurotic Outsiders: Neurotic Outsiders

Neurotic Outsiders were the 90s hard rock supergroup formed by Steve Jones of The Sex Pistols with John Taylor (Duran Duran) and both Duff McKagan and Matt Sorum from Guns ’N’ Roses. This deluxe reissue of their 1996 debut appears on vinyl for the very first time. It features bonus material from a rare Japanese EP.

Nick Mason’s Saucerful Of Secrets: Echoes (Live)

Nick Mason’s Saucerful of Secrets share an incredible live cut of their interpretation of the classic Pink Floyd song Echoes. Featuring Gary Kemp, Guy Pratt, Dom Beken and Lee Harris, the band’s performance was recorded on 1 August 2024 at the Centennial Hall in Frankfurt, Germany. The B-side includes an exclusive etched design.

Record Store Day 2025 - OMD Peel Sessions

OMD: Peel Sessions 1979-1983

This is the first time that any of these tracks have been pressed on vinyl. It is also the first time that every track from OMD’s sessions for John Peel have been released together. The original CD version of this collection, issued in 2000, omitted the second recording of Bunker Soldiers, recorded as part of the 1983 session.

Paul Hardcastle: Paul Hardcastle 40th Anniversary Edition

RSD 2025 Exclusive. It’s been 40 years since Paul Hardcastle’s classic self titled album was released. Featuring hits such as 19, Just For Money and Rainforest, this limited edition version has been remastered and cut at AIR Mastering and pressed on transparent red vinyl.

Peter Gabriel: OVO – Half Speed Master

Peter Gabriel’s album from 2000 comes to vinyl for the first time. OVO is Gabriel’s soundtrack to the Millennium Dome Show in London and tells the story of three generations of the same family living through three distinct eras.

Prince: Live At Glam Slam

Recorded on 11 January 1992 at Prince’s Minneapolis club, Glam Slam. The 3LP set, originally released for the Diamonds And Pearls Super Deluxe boxset in 2023, will be issued on 3LP 140g yellow vinyl with a gatefold sleeve.

Propaganda: p:Machinery – the αlpha:βeta definition

Universal and ZTT Records celebrates the 40th anniversary of Propaganda’s p:Machinery. This limited edition 12″ clear vinyl has nine tracks in total. Production comes from Stephen Lipson and, for the previously unreleased material, Paul Morley. The package has been put together by Classic Pop’s founder Ian Peel and features unseen photos from Claudia Brücken’s archives.

Public Image Ltd: Public Image – First Issue

First Issue is the debut album by PiL, originally released in 1978 by Virgin Records. An alternative version of First Issue was initially intended for release in 1979, but never saw the light of day. It was thought the recordings were lost. However, the misfiled tape was later discovered and features mixes and re-recordings of tracks from the original debut. These mixes were created during the 1979 sessions for Metal Box and includes Swan Lake (aka Death Disco). This version of First Issue has never been released before and includes different sleeve artwork.

Shakespears Sister: Black Sky

Originally released as a DJ only promo 12″ in 1992, The Dub Extravaganza Part 2 of Shakespears Sister’s Black Sky was an early taste of Underworld’s remixing prowess. It is reissued on vinyl, alongside the The Dub Extravaganza Part One, with newly commissioned re-edits of the Underworld mix by Leo Zero.

Record Store Day 2025 - Soft Cell

Soft Cell: Happiness Now Completed

*Happiness Now Completed, includes previously unreleased Soft Cell mixes and single-only tracks, none of which have appeared on vinyl before. It also has the previously unheard Kill Shot and a recently re-recorded version of Last Chance. Cover versions of Fad Gadget’s Back To Nature and X-Ray Spex’s The Day The World Turned Day Glo also feature.

Sophie Ellis-Bextor: Kitchen Disco (Live at The London Palladium)

Relive the magic of Sophie Ellis-Bextor’s London Palladium performance with this Record Store Day 2025 exclusive release. The special edition is pressed on gold vinyl and is individually numbered. Limited to 2,000 copies, this 2LP set captures the energy and joy of Sophie’s celebrated Kitchen Disco live performances.

Record Store Day 2025 - Thompson Twins

Thompson Twins: Into The Gap Live

Originally filmed at the Del Mar Racetrack, California, Into The Gap Live was originally released in 1984 on VHS. The audio for this concert will be a first edition release on limited edition colour vinyl. It captures the Thompson Twins performing songs from their chart-topping album Into The Gap. The live album showcases their vibrant synth-pop sound with hits like Hold Me Now, Doctor! Doctor!, and You Take Me Up, infused with the energy and charisma of their live performances.
