Alt-pop visionary BENEE has announced that her long-awaited sophomore album, Ur An Angel I’m Just Particles, will be released on November 7th via Republic Records. The announcement arrives with her new single, “Cinnamon,” out now. The bouncy electro-pop track is released alongside the official music video—listen to “Cinnamon” and watch it now below.

BENEE shares, “I’ve been working on this for about three years now, and I’m so happy to finally be releasing my second album! I worked so hard on this and had a really clear story for the album. Over time, it really started to make sense, and I’m so proud of it—it means the world to me!”

She continues, “I wrote ‘Cinnamon’ with my friend Ryan Raines, who is an incredible producer. We made it about a year ago, and I have loved the song from the start. I’m so stoked to be sharing it with the world, it means a lot to me. I wrote it about moving to LA and feeling a little bit lost in the chaos, like everything was falling apart. It felt like nothing was working. The chorus is quite ethereal and a nice let go for me. I thought, ‘Well even if everything around me has turned to shit, I’m going to stay sweet, still be kind, and attract the right kind of people.’ I got my friend Sora to play the cello in the bridge, which I LOVE. I cry sometimes when I listen to that part. And it’s such a fun song to perform live!”

Ur An Angel I’m Just Particles features BENEE’s signature blend of creative storytelling with unique and vulnerable lyricism set to genre-bending sounds and production. “Cinnamon” arrives on the heels of her fan favorite single “Off The Rails” released earlier this summer. Co-written with notable female songwriting and producing duo Luka Kloser and Elvira Anderfjärd [BENEE’s “Green Honda”, Addison Rae’s Addison] and produced by Kloser and Anderfjärd alongside BENEE’s frequent collaborator Josh Fountain [“Supalonely”], “Off The Rails” was released to praise from critics and fans alike. Rolling Stone praised the track as “a thrashy pop-rock rush of feminine rage,” while Stereogum applauded it as “a bratty, deliriously, guitar-driven pop jam.”

From releasing her critically acclaimed singles “Animal” and “Sad Boiii” to touring with Tate McRae, Olivia Rodrigo, and Wallows to celebrating the 5-year anniversary of her 2x platinum certified breakthrough hit “Supalonely,” the New Zealand-born, Los Angeles-based artist has been keeping busy over the past year as she wrote and recorded Ur An Angel I’m Just Particles.

Now, BENEE invites fans to step into the world of Ur An Angel I’m Just Particles—stay tuned for more exciting news to come.
