On Wednesday 30 October, The Cure played exclusive live BBC sessions for BBC Radio 2 In Concert and BBC Radio 6 Music.
The Cure’s Radio 2 In Concert will be broadcast in Jo Whiley’s show on Radio 2 and BBC Sounds (7-9pm) this evening (Thursday 31 October), which will also feature Jo’s interview with Robert Smith from 8pm. On Friday 1 November, the Radio 2 Breakfast Show, hosted by Zoe Ball (6:30-9:30am), will also feature some exclusive tracks from the recording.
On 6 Music and BBC Sounds, 6 Music Session: The Cure Live, will be broadcast within Huw Stephens’ show tonight (Thursday 31 October, 4-7pm), alongside an interview with Robert Smith from 5:30pm. The 6 Music session follows the station’s world exclusive first play of The Cure’s new single, Alone – the band’s first new music in 16 years – on Mary Anne Hobbs (weekdays 10:30am-1pm) on Thursday 26 September.
The Cure’s Radio 2 In Concert and 6 Music performances will also be available to watch on BBC iPlayer on the evening of Thursday 31 October at 8pm and 6pm respectively and on demand for 30 days.
Fans of The Cure are in for a treat on Saturday 2 November, as BBC Two will air a new The Cure at the BBC compilation (8:10pm), The Cure’s Radio 2 In Concert (9:10pm), plus another chance to see That Was Then… This Is Now: The Cure (11:10pm), The Cure at Glastonbury 2019 (11:45pm) and Rock Around the Clock: The Cure (1:45am).

Ahead of the event Robert Smith said: “It’s not often we perform such intimate shows, so we’re really looking forward to this, and to sharing more tracks from the new album for the first time on 6 Music and Radio 2.”
The Cure will release their long-awaited new album, Songs Of A Lost World, on 1 November.
Songs Of A Lost World will be released as a 1LP, a Miles Showell Abbey Road half-speed master 2LP, and marble-coloured 1LP. It will also be available as a double Cassette, CD, a deluxe CD package with a Blu-Ray featuring an instrumental version of the record and a Dolby Atmos mix of the album. Order here
