asteria, the 19-year old artist, producer and overall sonic anarchist who has gained massive traction digitally, has released his debut album ASTERIA VOL. 1. asteria embraces anarchism and internet culture, pioneering the next wave of music by blending chaotic, energetic beats with a unique visual and auditory aesthetic as experienced on ASTERIA VOL. 1. His music, characterised by its frenetic pace and repetitive hooks, evokes wild, unrestrained energy, perfect for those seeking a high-octane experience.
As the follow up to his collab EP Cute Songs for Gangsters with 6arelyhuman earlier this year, asteria’s 12-track album debut showcases his futuristic musicality and ability to create captivating, high-energy songs such as “MOVE YOUR BODY” with its accompanying video–set as a night out in Warsaw, Poland’s The Club No1 gentleman’s club–heavily flirts with androgeny, finding asteria staring in both his male and female personas.
The album also features previously released singles “WHAT YOU WANT!” featuring the iconic vocaloid Hatsune Miku, adding digital surrealism that complements his forward-thinking sound and “EYES ON ME,” a standout with its pulsating rhythms and anthemic hooks. There are also collaborations along with renowned artists of the genre with Odetari (“TELL ME LIES”) and kets4eki (“TOO MANY LINES,” “DON”T UNDERSTAND IT”), further solidifying his presence in the emerging talents of the music industry.
asteria–born as Matthew Joines in New Zealand–is a trailblazing artist based in Warsaw, Poland. Transcending traditional music boundaries, asteria’s distinctive style resonates deeply with his large online cult fanbase. Inspired by Japanese creative Jun Inagawa’s artwork, he combines chaotic energy with meticulous craftsmanship, offering a fresh take on electronic music. After being part of FabFantasy, asteria founded Anarchist Sanctuary in 2023, further establishing his innovative and energetic soundscape that reflects the digital age.
